SAMUEL HART JOSELOFF

Samuel Hart Joseloff was born in Hartford, Connecticut, son of Hugh Michael Joseloff '23 and Helen Hart Joseloff. He prepared for Yale at Loomis School, Windsor, Connecticut.

At Yale, Sam was a member of Jonathan Edwards and on the JE soccer and tennis teams. He was a member of Dwight Hall and worked in the Little Brothers Program 1960-62. In Hillel, he was co-chairman of the Religious Committee and in the choral group. Sam was also a member of Freshman Chorus and in the Apollo Glee Club.

Following graduation Sam earned his Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin and his Ph.D. from Princeton. He taught at Mitchell College and Georgetown University. Subsequently, he worked at the National Institute of Health until his retirement in 2001.

He edited an anthology of poetry, "A Time to Seek," published in 1975.

Sam died of Parkinson's in Rockville, Maryland. A longtime resident of Silver Spring, Maryland, he was survived by his wife Ann, two children, Elizabeth and Larry, three grandchildren, his brother Gerald and his sister Lynn Kaufman.
